How does my agent create clips from my episodes?

Clips are made from the shows connected to your account. Your own, whether they are hosted on Fountain or on a feed you keep somewhere else. You cannot make clips from a podcast that is not yours.

When you ask your agent for clips, it works through your show's transcripts rather than watching the video back. Fountain transcribes and indexes every episode of a connected show, and that index is what the agent searches.

Finding the moment

You can ask for a topic, a kind of moment (funny, surprising, controversial), a quote you half remember, a guest, or a specific episode. The agent searches the indexed transcripts, groups nearby segments into moments, and scores each one for hook strength, insight and shareability. Weak moments are dropped rather than padded out.

Only episodes with an indexed transcript are searchable, so the agent will tell you how much of your archive the search reached.

Cutting the boundaries

For each moment that passes, the agent sets exact clip boundaries. A clip needs a direct hook in the first few seconds, a complete ending, and one idea. The target length is roughly 35 to 75 seconds, unless you ask for a different range.

The episode must have video. A moment without video to cut from is dropped, because clips are cut from the video itself.

Writing the copy

The agent then writes the post: a title built around the quote, a context note, and one piece of post text per platform. A clip going to two channels gets two different posts, each written for that platform. It never invents a quote or statistic the transcript does not hold.

Everything lands as a draft

For each clip, the agent opens one draft post per connected channel. Nothing is published. Every post waits in your drafts queue until you approve it. You can review them in the dashboard under Posts > Drafts.
