Which app do I need to make clips?
Claude Code or Codex. Other apps can find the moments and draft the posts, but only an agent on your computer can cut the video.
Use Claude Code or Codex. They run on your computer, so your agent can download an episode, cut the clip and render the captions there.
What works in other apps
In Claude.ai, the Claude app's chat, Cowork or ChatGPT, your agent can still search your archive, find the strongest moments and draft the posts. It cannot make the finished video, because cutting and captioning a clip needs the episode's media and video tools on your own machine. If your agent says it has no access to the audio or video, this is why.
Where your podcast is hosted does not matter
Clips work the same on a feed hosted anywhere, such as Spotify, RedCircle or Libsyn. Fountain reads your episodes from your feed. See do I have to move my podcast to Fountain.
Setting it up
Install Claude Code or Codex, then follow how to connect Fountain to your agent and say "Set up Fountain". Your agent checks that it has the tools it needs and tells you if anything is missing.
