How does publishing video work on Fountain?

Upload a video when publishing an episode and Fountain will extract the audio for the main RSS enclosure while including the video as an alternate enclosure for supporting apps.

Our Pro plan ($50/month) offers video publishing for podcasters.

When you publish a new episode, upload your video file and Fountain encodes it in multiple file formats and resolutions from 360p to 1080p.

Fountain extracts the audio from that video and puts the audio file in the main enclosure of your RSS feed.

The video is then included in your feed in the alternate enclosure, which means podcast apps that support video enclosures can play it. This approach keeps your feed compatible with audio-first podcast apps while also making video available in supporting apps.

You can also publish video to Apple Podcasts. Apple Podcasts video is powered by HTTP Live Streaming video (HLS video), an adaptive streaming format designed for smooth playback across devices and connection speeds.
