How do livestreams work on Fountain?
Fountain gives you an RTMP address and stream key so you can go live at up to 1080p to the people who already follow your show.
Fountain gives you an RTMP address and a stream key. Point OBS, Streamyard or whatever you stream with at it and go live at up to 1080p. No separate encoder to learn and no second account to keep.
Your stream is seen by the people who follow your show and appears on the Fountain home page, with live chat beside it. Listeners can send a message with a payment attached or stream payments by the minute while they watch, and both are split automatically.
When you finish, the recording is kept. You can publish it to your feed as an episode and clip it the same way you would any other episode.

Your show also needs to be hosted on Fountain to stream. This is the one feature that does not work on a feed hosted elsewhere, because the livestream itself is hosted here. If you want to move your show, see how to switch to Fountain hosting.
Not a restreamer
A stream goes out from Fountain rather than to five platforms at once. Fountain will not push the same feed to YouTube and Twitch for you. If you want to be live there at the same time, you would need a restreamer in front of it.
