Do listeners need a Fountain account?
To pay with Lightning, yes. The wallet lives in the app, and listeners can top it up from any bank account by connecting Strike. Card payments work through Stripe, with Apple Pay and Google Pay supported, once you connect a Stripe account.
Anyone can still subscribe to your feed in any podcast app without an account. They just arrive as a download rather than as a person.
