What are credits and what do they cost?
Every plan includes monthly credits. Generating a transcript and publishing a post each cost one credit.
Credits are how Fountain meters the work it does for you. Every plan includes a monthly allowance:
- Lite: 200 credits per month
- Pro: 400 credits per month, plus 200 per extra podcast

What costs credits
- Generating a transcript: one credit per transcript, charged once when the job is queued
- Publishing a post: one credit per post, charged when it goes out
A clip that goes to two channels is two posts, so it costs two credits. Drafts cost nothing, so anything you never approve never charges you.
What does not cost credits
API and MCP calls are unlimited on every plan. Your agent can search your archive, load episodes and transcripts, draft posts and pull analytics as often as it likes without touching your credit balance.
