With nation-state and non-state actors laser-focused on gaining strategic advantage by compromising IT environments, one of the top priorities for the United States Intelligence Community (IC) is the security and integrity of its networks and data. Following the Executive Order on Cybersecurity issued in May 2021, Zero Trust Architecture has become the go-to security posture for the federal government. Understanding the advantages that Zero Trust will bring and how it is not a security oxymoron is paramount for the IC, which deals with highly complex missions such as threats from nation-states, destabilizing terrorism, and cybersecurity emerging as the new battlefield.
