Hi everybody! I am Matt Campbell, welcome to the 52nd episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast. Today I am going to be talking about the Hot Wedding songs released in July. We are starting with the oldest to the newest. Unfortunately, we do not sample any songs on the podcast but you can listen to them on our website at MyWeddingSongs.com. Just go to the main menu charts then Best New Songs.
Let’s go ahead and get started with the first song on the list. Released on July 1st by Johnathan Len and Brinn Black is “Made You For Me”. This could be considered a Christian or Country song. It is a mid-tempo song, so one that you could have as a recessional song (which is a little more up-tempo), or as a background song during cocktails or dinner. Next up, released on July 2nd, is an EDM song “You For Me” by Sigala and Rita Ora. This is a great mid-tempo song. All of the lyrics aren’t the greatest for a wedding song, but I have to say the featured lyrics make it good for it. It is one that you could have as a background song during cocktail hour, for couples who love EDM music. Released on July 2nd is “Come What May” by Caleb and Kelsey. They do a lot of covers so if you love cover songs check them out. This is a Christian song you could have during your ceremony. It could be a vow or a unity song.
One of my favorite Indie artists for weddings is JJ Heller and she released a new song on July 2nd called “Better Half”. Yes, she is marrying the better half. It talks about that love story so if you want to have this as a slow song it could even be a first dance song at your reception. The next song, released on July 8th, is by John Legend and is called “Crowd Go Crazy”. This song is from the Space Jam album. I think this would make for a great R&B entrance song for the couple into the reception. One you have to check out. Released on July 9th is the Country band Zac Brown Band with their song called “Old Love Song”. This is a great mid-tempo song you could play during dinner or cocktail hour. Next up, released on July 9th, is Parmalee. You may remember Parmalee from their song “Just The Way” that they did with Bronco Brown, it is a mid-tempo song that has been played at a lot of wedding receptions. The song “Take My Name” is a great song you could play as you are about to have the same name and be married. It is a song to have to celebrate each other.
If you are into Folk and a little bit of unique music, then Natalie Bergman and Beck released “You’ve Got A Woman” on July 9th. It has a unique love message to it and is a song you could incorporate into your wedding day. Also released on July 9th is one of my favorite acoustic bands Music Travel Love. They brought in Felix Irwan to do a cover of the very popular Aerosmith song “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”. This song was featured in the movie Armageddon back in the 1990s. It is still one of the greatest love songs played at weddings today. This version is a great cover you can mix into your ceremony. Released on July 14th is Lawson Bates. His category is considered Country, but I actually like this song as a love song you can dedicate to your bride on your wedding day. It is called “The Way I See You”. It talks about being in love with her.
For the Folk fans, Julia Westlin released “Someone Like You” on July 15th. If Folk is your thing, then this would make for a great ceremony song as a processional or recessional song.
