They started with an intense week of learning HTML, CSS, Python, and Git. After that, they continued with part-time learning for about 15 weeks.The conversation covers different routes into tech. While a computer science degree is still a respected route, it is not the only one. Boot camps and self-study are also viable options. Amber recommends researching various boot camps, reading reviews, and understanding the curriculum before committing to one.Jessie and Amber were involved in online communities while they were learning to code. They mention the "100 days of code" challenge, which they both tried but failed to complete. However, they learned that they did not have to do it alone. There are many resources available online and communities to engage with.The conversation ends with a discussion on how to transition into a new role. Jessie discusses moving internally and being supported by her colleagues. Amber, on the other hand, joined a big corporation as her first engineering role.
