Welcome to the 41st episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast. Thank you for tuning in. I am Matt Campbell and today I am going to be talking about the Hot 50 Wedding Songs that were released in February 2021. If this is the first time you are tuning in, you may know that I don’t play samples because I don’t have the copyrights to the songs. If you want to listen to a sample of the song you can do so on our website MyWeddingSongs.com and then just go to Hot 50 Picks. I have also revamped how the songs are charted so I think you will like the list a little better this month.
So let’s go ahead and get started with the first song on our list. At number 50 is “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, released May 29, 2020. I think this is a great dance tune that could fill the dance floor. At number 49 is Louis Armstrong’s ultimate classic wedding song “What A Wonderful World”, released on September 1, 1967. It is still relevant today. Number 48 is a modern dance hit “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish, released on March 29, 2019. It may be a little somber song but if you have the right remix it could fill the dance floor and get everybody motivated to party. The 47th song on the list is “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey, released in July 1981. One of the greatest sing-along songs of all time and a very popular song to end the evening. I would challenge you not to save it for the end of the evening because it will get everybody singing along and in a great mood. At number 46 we have the Las Vegas-based Imagine Dragons with their song “Thunder” released on April 27, 2017. This could be an introduction song or a party song for those Pop Rock fans.
The 45th spot is by IZ, the Hawaiian legend, even though he is no longer with us his song continues to be one of the greatest wedding songs. It is “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” with him and his ukulele. It was released on November 1, 1993, and I have also seen some records that have it released in 1990 so I am not sure which is correct. It is a great beach wedding song or a ceremony song. An Alternative Rock band, number 44 Panic At The Disco, released their song “High Hopes” on May 22, 2018. I think this is another great party song that guests will be singing along to. Number 43 is our first Christian song on the list by Lauren Daigle called “You Say”, released on July 13, 2018. This is one of the great modern Christian songs you could incorporate into your wedding day along with “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me. At number 42 is another sing-along song. This time in the Country genre. It is “Wine Beer Whiskey” by Little Big Town released on July 17, 2020. This is a song you could play while you are waiting for the wedding couple to arrive.
The 41st spot is held by Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa with “Prisoner” which was released on November 23, 2020. This is a modern Pop song that you could play that will fill the dance floor. At number 40 are Chris Brown and Young Thug with their song “Go Crazy”, released on May 5, 2020. Love this R&B dance tune. Our first EDM song on the list is at number 39 with “Put Your Records On” by Ritt Momney, released on April 24, 2020. It is a great background song during cocktails or dinner. One of my favorite Modern Disco producers, Dua Lipa is at number 38 with her song “Don't Start Now”. Released on October 31, 2019, Halloween, but there is nothing scary about this song as it is a great dance tune. One of the modern wedding love songs,
