Aligning work to the broader company goals
Engineers like to work on things that actually get used
CTO should focus on customer success channels
Focusing on what impact we can bring to the customer
Translating that to daily motivation
Distilling the message into the simplest form
Not using release dates as motivation
Explaining technical debt to the broader organization
Engineering bandwidth as a pie chart
