Forced into retirement at 66 Fiona Griffin decided that her exuberant energy needed to be given free reign. So she embarked on a J1 visa summer in the USA as a Camp Counsellor in Wisconsin. Fiona shares her experiences Solo Travelling, meeting a large new group of International Friends, learning new skills and having a fabulous Solo experience across two summers. She explains how she had to reassure family and friends that she wasn't 'gone mad' how her safety wasn't an issue and how she dealt with living with hundreds of young women and girls for two summers in the Wisconsin Wilds.
