Nushama was born out of Jay’s desire to partner with the most experienced physicians and business minds to create novel treatment alternatives and build the infrastructure for the future of psychedelic medicine. Prior to starting Nushama, Jay spent fifteen years as Chief Executive Officer of his eponymously named fashion house where he built a global brand from scratch. His collection was sold in five continents in prestigious retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales and was featured on the red carpet by numerous celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Viola Davis, Ashley Graham, and Laverne Cox. Prior to founding the Jay Godfrey brand, he was on Wall Street working at Citigroup in investment banking. Jay graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce and the Parsons School of Design.
