Today we use the words of the apostle Paul to say a prayer of thanks for you who are serving in our nation’s military. We also say a prayer of thanks for military spouses, military parents, and military children, in addition to those of you who have served and continue to serve in other ways.
Today I say a prayer of thanks for you—you who are serving in our nation’s military, whether you are stationed stateside or overseas.
For you who are the spouses of those who are serving in our nation’s military. For you who are the parents of a child who serves in our nation’s military. For you who are children of those who serve in our nation’s military.
I also say a prayer of thanks for you who have served and continue to serve in other ways. I say a prayer of thanks for you today because you are so bold and so willing to share the faith that you have in Christ and the hope that you have in heaven, especially in a military culture that is not always friendly to Christianity. You show it, and you share it. And you have this willingness to invite people to come and see the hope that you have in Christ, the sure certainty that you have in heaven an
