How are you doing? We are doing pretty good because this is our 50th episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast, I am Matt Campbell. Today I will be talking about the Hot 22 Wedding songs released in June 2021 that would be songs that are great to add to your wedding day playlist. This is a momentous occasion, 50 episodes which is hard to believe. As we do release two podcasts every month now, the Hot 50 Wedding songs of the month, and also the new songs of the prior month. So this episode, like I said is the Hot 22 New Wedding songs of the prior month. If you want to read any of the list you can do so on our site MyWeddingSongs.com, then just go to charts and Best New songs. Or you can even listen to the list. Due to copyright laws, we cannot play the songs. And while you're there, make sure you subscribe to our monthly newsletter, The Music Letter, as we call it. Just go to the main menu and click on subscribe, and then you'll be signed up for a monthly newsletter of all the new wedding songs released in the prior month that you could play at your wedding.
Let’s go ahead and get started with the first song on our list. As we do each month we are presenting the list in chronological order by release date. Starting on June 1st is a brand new song by Devin Morrison called “Nu Beginning”. It is about coming out of Covid and starting new beginnings. But, you know, this can really describe a new marriage and new life together. For the theme of this song, I think it really fits into a wedding day. It is a very soulful slower song, so maybe one you add to the wedding ceremony or even as a first dance. Next up is a Heavy Metal Hard Rock song by Volbeat called “Wait Minute My Girl”, released on June 2nd. It is a fun song that will have all of the rockers out on the dance floor. Next up is Jax with her new song “Like My Father” released on June 3rd. She really meant this as a first dance song, that she really wants to have the love that her father has for her mother. I really like this as a father-daughter dance song. It talks about how a father really loves her mother. It opens the door for romance in the relationship.
Next up is a remake of a song from the 80s called “Lost In Your Eyes” by Debbie Gibson but this time she brought in New Kids on the Block member Joey McIntyre to make it a duet. It was released on June 4, 2021, and is one that could bring back a lot of memories for those 80s fans in attendance. Released on June 4th is a slower R&B song by Raheem DeVaughn and Apollo Brown called “Everything Baby”. I love this song as a romantic R&B song to have during the wedding day. It is also one that you can incorporate into your playlist. The last song I have, released on June 4th, is a fun Country sing-along song by Walker Hayes called “Fancy Like”. It is a great song you can have during the reception. I would even say during cocktail hour because it is a great sing-along song,
Released on June 9th is one of my favorite duos that do acoustic covers of beautiful songs, kind of like The Piano Guys. It is Music Travel Love with their rendition of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. This was originally done by Elvis and is one of the greatest love songs and wedding songs of all time. I think they really give this song justice and you can incorporate it into your wedding ceremony or you can even have it as a first dance. Next up, released on June 10th, is a brand new song by Calum Scott called “Biblical”.
