Welcome to the Wedding Songs Podcast featuring newly released songs you need to know and the tried and true classics. Get song ideas from the time guests arrive to the last dance of the reception. And now your host, Matt Campbell founder of MyWeddingSongs.com.
Thank you for tuning into the 54th episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast. I am Matt Campbell and today I am going to be talking about the Hot Wedding Songs that were released in August 2021. I am going to be giving you these songs in chronological order starting with, of course, August 1st and working our way thru the month with 30 new songs that were released. So let’s go ahead and get started.
The first song “I Get A Kick Out Of You” by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. I have to say that this is a great song you can play as a background song during dinner. Even though it is a Jazz song, everybody is going to be tapping their toes and singing along. Next up is singer/songwriters Johnny and Heidi with their song “If It Were Up To Me”, released on August 4th. This is a great song during your ceremony, or even during your reception as a first dance song. It is not going to be played at every wedding, so it is a great song you could uniquely call yours. Next up, released on August 6th, is “Best Thing Since Backroads” released by Jake Owen. Now everyone knows his popular wedding song “Made For You” which was released in 2018, this is more of a mid-tempo song that you could play during cocktail hour that would keep the mood up and make Country fans happy. Also released on August 6th is “Flawless Diamond” released by Lyfe Jennings and Amina Buddafly. This is a new R&B love song that you could have during the wedding or the reception. It makes for a wonderful first dance song too. So, you know what, you could have it for any part of your wedding day if you are an R&B fan. Released on August 6th is “High Horse” by Nelly, Breland, and Blanco Brown. Off of his new album is “Lil Bit” with Florida Georgia Line. This is along those same lines, it is a great party song, a sing-along song so for those Hip-Hop/Country blend fans this is a great song to play.
Also released on August 6th is the new song “Take My Breath” by The Weeknd. I like to call him the King of Modern Disco because the Queen really would be Dua Lipa. This is a great song to play during the dancing part. It will get everybody on the dance floor. A funny little background of this is people were wondering if this had any connection with his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, so maybe it is, maybe it isn’t but I have to say it is a great dance tune. Because I mentioned Selena Gomez, make sure you check out her new TV show Only Murders in The Building just because it features not only her but Steve Martin and Martin Short. Next up is Indie Pop artist Mad Slinger with his song “Lightning”, released on August 6th. This is a love song that you could play during your wedding day.
Next up, released on August 9th, is Sean Ardoin with his new song “For You”. This is a great R&B love song that you could have during the wedding ceremony or during the reception to capture any love moments. Released on August 11th, “A Pair Of Two” by Pair of Two featuring Matias Sanes and Katerina McCrimmon is a great song to play during the ceremony while all of your guests are sitting. I have to say that I am not a fan of this song and the artist being the same name. It makes it extremely confusing. That is just a side note, pet peeve. So the next song was released on August 12th and is a great EDM song by the legend Tiesto,
