This episode we are chatting with Dr. Kathy Gonzales the Conflict Doctor. Born and raised in the sun-drenched twin-island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean, Dr. Kathy Gonzales helps nonprofits deal with conflict. After practicing as a family lawyer for a few years, she decided to go back to school (because, why not). She gained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, California. During this time, she also gained a new passion- the what, the why and the how of conflict engagement!This new passion continued to develop until she could no longer resist its pull and set off down a new career path, which led me to start a new business and begin doctoral studies at the same time! I went on to graduate from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Conflict Analysis & Resolution, and have been privileged to do some really exciting and impactful work across the world, which has honed my skills as a conflict engagement specialist and as an educator.What she likes about her work is that no two days are exactly the same, because each client is different and presents her with a new challenge.
