Trump is the only serious republican candidate for the presidency of the United States in the elections of 2024, though hobbled and battered by an onslaught of lawfare that the majority of the country deems is political. His MAGA slogan, borrowed from Reagan's campaign in the '80s, has deeply resonated with much of the country in the face of an open southern border, a bad economy, wars in Ukraine and Israel, and an impaired incumbent president with deeply unpopular policies. What made America great in the first place? The slogan implies that America is no longer great, but how did the decline happen? Can the country be restored, or is all lost?
