I spoke with Dea Rezkitha, an Indonesian Bitcoiner who’s in charge of organizing the upcoming Indonesia Bitcoin Conference at the end of this month in Bali. We talk about her unique story of how she got into Bitcoin, the terrible inflation that Indonesia has suffered, how Dea educates Indonesians on what Bitcoin can offer them, and even how Bitcoin mining could unlock the country’s geothermal reserves.
We then get into conference topics, side events like the Lightning Hackathon, and how they’re using Fedi not only as a Bitcoin microeconomy at the conference but also as the conference app itself for participants to connect with each other.
