The Eleventh Commandment.

The Eleventh Commandment.

Refinery Life Radio

Welcome to Refinery Life Australia.

“The Christ of John’s Gospel” has been our theme for the past couple of months teachings with a focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ.

We will continue this series for a little while longer while God is holding us here.

Today we are discussing, The Eleventh Commandment.

Charles Templeton, wrote that the history of the world has been affected by two events that took place in two small rooms, separated by thousands of miles and thousands of years.

One of these rooms was a dodgy flat in the Soho district of London.

In this small room, Karl Marx wrote Das capital, a book that changed the face of communism.

And is a direct opposition to what we as Christians believe.

The other room was in Jerusalem.

It was the place where Jesus ate the Passover with His disciples and have them some meaningful instructions.

Just as Jesus was about to go to the cross, He bequeathed His disciples a badge they would need to wear.

It would be a sign that they were in fact His disciples.

John 13:34-35, A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Jesus called His exhortation to love a “new command.”

We could label it the “eleventh commandment.”

This morning lets look at the various facets of this command.

The world desperately needs love, but the only way they can know true love is by watching Christian live in action.

Will we obey the eleventh commandment?

Will we love one another?

Until next time
