Michael Francke was a good man. He was hired in 1987 as the Director of Oregon state’s Department of Corrections. Michael was brought in to oversee the largest prison expansion in the state’s history. The Oregon prisons were very badly overcrowded. Many believe that Michael discovered something unsavory. This could have been corruption in the Oregon Department of Corrections, or an organized criminal element in the prison system. People believe this because Michael was telling them this. Before he could reveal the evil that lurked beneath the surface someone attacked and killed Michael Francke.
