In 2017, prominent ultrarunner and North Face athlete Hillary Allen fell 150ft off a ridgeline during a skyrace in Norway. She was presumed dead, broke 14 bones in the fall, and had to relearn how to walk again.
Shockingly, Hillary was back to winning races less than a year later. But more recently, she learned the hard way that recovering from that kind of near-death trauma requires a lot more than just the physical rehab.
