In this episode of our PILOT ERROR series we look at the un-aired TV pilot for Clerks.Live action unaired pilot based on the cult movie of the same name. Convenience store clerk Dante has to deal with his disappointed but caring father who once again tries to convince him to make something out of his life and get a "real" job, his serious girlfriend Veronica who wants them to spend a romantic evening together but he just can't find the time, as well as the store's regular friendly underage pathological shoplifter Ray. Dante's priorities change however when Cliff, an old acquaintance of his who once betrayed him when they were friends as teens, suddenly shows up to brag about his successful new career and Veronica agrees to go to his party. Dante's best friend Randal, a video store clerk who works next door to Dante and loves spoiling movies for his customers, agrees to help primarily because he's bored. They also take with them their friend Todd, the next door ice cream clerk who's obsessed with Sandra, a gorgeous friendly cool girl who sometimes likes to hang out with them in Dante's store.
