Tom McGarvey, 95 years of age, was born in San Francisco's tough Potrero Hill district in 1927. From selling newspapers to longshoremen on the Embarcadero when he was 6 years old, to going to Sea at 15 years old, and owning the iconic Red's Java House for 40 years, Tom has experienced it all.
