James O'Beirne is a friend and contributor to Bitcoin Core since 2015. He is also the author of the recently published 'OP_VAULT' white paper. 

While I tend to focus more on the socio-cultural or 'philosophical' aspects of bitcoin, I still think it's very important to have an informed perspective on how bitcoin works 'under the hood', especially in terms of how potential changes or upgrades to it are identified, developed, and implemented.

I've found James to have a balanced, thoughtful, and humble perspective on the matter, combined with direct experience and expertise that few others have. As a result, I thought he would be an ideal person to explore this topic with.
