In 1976, the residents of the small town of Circleville in the US state of Ohio found ghostly letters in their mailboxes for the first time. The writer threatened to reveal their greatest secrets. He also made it clear that he knew things about the recipients' lives that they did not want to make public.The letters influenced the lives of many people and were probably the reason for at least one death.
