The powerful dynamics of building people up vs. tearing them down
With so much toxicity in our industry I decided to talk about the benefits of building people up vs. tearing them down. How do our words and actions shape the environment around us and how negativity breeds negativity. We should all be supporting each other since we're all in the same boat, but yet we seem to always be firing the cannons at each other. So think about the things you say or how you actions can affect someone before the next time you act out towards your fellow peer.

WOYM: Buying into a detail franchise w/ Glenn & Tracy Urfer
A while back I asked Bruno what would be the benefits of buying into a detailing franchise. The way I see it is you're giving up a piece of the pie for hopefully a larger pie. I don't know many shops that carry that much weight that would make it a smart move. Thankfully Glenn & Tracy Urfer just did such a thing with becoming a part of SparrowHawk mobile detailing. They're going to give us the insight on why they made the decision and what their hopes for growth will be.

Gray Scott had to fly
You all might remember Gray Scott from his earlier episode and from being an active member in a bunch of detailing groups. In 2020 when the TikTok craze happened Gray said "I'm a Peacock and I gotta fly!" and so he became the TikTok Peacock. So it's been a couple of years and we wanted to catch up with Gray and see what he's been up to and how the whole TikTok thing was going. With so many detailers wanting to be "social media famous" Gray gives us the real deal on just how hard that is.

WOYM: The high price of convenience
Convenience isn't something that shouldn't be considered cheap. When you stop at the Convenience store most things are not the same price as a retail store. When you go to an oil change center it isn't cheap. Mobile detailing is a convenience and yet most mobile detailers are cheaper than shop based locations. It seems like mobile detailers don't follow the "convenient" store business model but follow the "fast food" business model of being cheaper than a restaurant. Jordan Eveland with Preci

WOYM: Car Washes and the Detailers who work together
Ask any detailer what they think about car washes, and you'll get pretty much the same answer, "The scratch tunnel" or "The swirl machine" or any other damaging response. But what if I told you there are detailers who work alongside car washes and benefit from it? Joe Kimball, Chris Cormie and Tony Kermali all have their detail shops on property of some variation of a car wash and all of them have thriving business from said car washes. We quickly jumped off detailing and started stalking about travel, F1, Australian V8 supercars and extreme sports like bungee jumping and diving with Great Whites.

WOYM: Stop detailing for other detailers!
I made a post about a vehicle I did for a great client and posted it in 2 Facebook detail groups. One group knew what I was doing and for the most everyone had a good ol' laugh. In the other group where people don't really know me, these detailers lost their damn minds. Listen to the episode to hear the story, but the if you take anything away from this episode I hope it's to STOP DETAILING FOR OTHER DETAILERS!! Also I want to thank Tuscarora Dave aka David Reigle for jumping on and asking th

Kody Kimball is THE guy
After talking with the face of Kimball's hands on detailing, I had to get the brains of the organization on and that is Kody Kimball. Kody used his business education to start a detailing business with his dad Joe and they have quickly grown into a very successful business in their town. Kody tells me him and his dad are kind of like Paul Sr and Jr from Orange County Choppers, except the don't smash doors they usually just throw bottles at each other.

WOYM: SEMA; Did the industry get it wrong?
It's SEMA week and I had hoped to be there rubbing elbows with everyone and recording the podcast from the show. When a lot of the detail companies started pulling out it started a chain reaction with the detailers not going too. I cancelled my trip because I thought it would be dead and a waste of money. WOYM: The future of detailing
On last weeks Facebook live John Perdue posed the question "What do you think the future of our industry will look like in the next 10 years?" I thought that was a great question and so I wanted to bring on guys that've been around long enough to see how the industry has changed from 10 yrs ago, that they might have some input on where it could go. John Perdue, Brian Guy and David Fermani are all guys that have seen the boom in detailing the last 10 yrs and I felt would have some great insight

How to pick the right coating company?
Almost every day I read a post in any detail Facebook where a detailer is asking "What's the best coating" or "I'm looking for a new coating brand, What's the best?" Hey Billy Baugus, WOYM?
Jason Bruno is back as my co-host for this episode of What's on your mind, with our guest Billy Baugus. Here's two hours of Billy for the most part uncensored, but would you want to hear a censored Billy? that doesn't sound fun.

Hey Bruno, What's on your mind?
This is a new idea i had so we'll see if you all like it or not. It's called What's on your mind and will be an open discussion about whatever you want to talk about. Of course I had to grab my good friend and guinea pig Jason Bruno for the first episode, so if you all love it remember it was my idea and if you don't well it's all Jason's fault.

Freaky Friday w/Austin Scarborough
Austin messaged me back in season 1 about learning more about me, so I suggested a "Freaky Friday" episode where he asks me the questions. Don't worry I got some questions in too. Also huge thanks to my friend Justin Cox for hooking me up with an intro. He is a Grammy nominated Christian rock guitarist for his band FireFlight. He took a little song my daughter Haley made up and had his son Solomon lay down some underlying vocals and we have a theme.
