We have all heard the term “no pain, no gain”
Usually we see it on gym walls or shouted at us by personal trainers.
But those same four words are also a perfect paraphrase of the personal philosophy of the apostle Paul, who said in 1 Corinthians 9:27
“I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that , I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
This kind of discipline requires effort and sacrifice.
But its well worthwhile, for you will receive a double prize, the eternal prize Paul is talking about, and the earthly prize of accomplishment and impact.
Personal discipline brings great rewards.
Talk to God today and ask Him to help you as you focus on the prize now, that the effort, sacrifice, and pain of discipline are more manageable.
Ask Him to help you focus on the prize all through the day.

When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer.
