Hey everyone and welcome to Refinery Life Church.

Today we are starting a new series titled “The Joy of Being a Giver.”

The fun of receiving is so great that many people never really experience the joy of being givers.

Jesus taught that we are to be givers if we are to find the true joy of living.

Today we are talking about The Gift Of Forgiveness.

Jesus taught His disciples on many occasions to be givers.

He said in Matthew 10:8, Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Luke’s gospel encourages us, in Luke 6:38, Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Jesus is also quoted in Acts 20:35, as having declared, I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

Some great gifts each of us need to give do not require that we be materially wealthy.

Today let us consider giving the rich gift of forgiveness to others.
