Hey everyone I’m Gary Hoban and welcome to Refinery Life Australia.
This week we are continuing our series titled Understanding Christ’s Passion.
The death of Christ was interpreted only as a great personal tragedy and a political catastrophe by the disciples until the light of God was shed on this event through the doorway of an empty tomb and the presence of a living Lord.
This week we are talking about,
Understanding our Mission.
Text
John 20:21 (ESV)
21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
Introduction
The greatest act of missions in the history of the universe was God’s act of sending His Son into the world to assume our humanity in the form of man.
To live a perfect life as He sheered the experience of our race, except for our sins, to win and train those who were to carry on His work, and in the end to die on a cross for our sins, since He had no sins of His own.
In that first post resurrection appearance to His disciples, He conveyed very clearly the mission they were to assume, as He said, “As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
This is our mission also.
