“Now that we’re in a time of peace - and we don’t need war anymore, and war is bad, and all that sort of stuff - we can do away with the whole warrior culture, the warrior ideology. And what do we become? We become fat slobs who don’t believe in reputation or morality or honour or any of that sort of stuff. 3/8/2023 • 1hr 18m
“I think money is an instrument for change, but it’s not the change itself. And it’s a very powerful tool, and it depends on who wields it and what kind of change gets implemented. the analogy with printing money & making the cake bigger to which you still only hold the same piece is not quite correct imho-think school fare- like there is ONE cake on the table with 12 slices & you bought a voucher for 1 piece-& suddenly more vouchers are being printed &handed out but not to you-so the nice lady/guy cuts the pieces of cake in two-so now you got 24 pieces of cake-& your voucher is only worth half of what you think you would get when you bought (worked for) that voucher…

causes me physical pain to listen to the podcasts like this but I force myself to do so regardless. it is clear that he is very dismissive of any who disagrees with his social framework (e.g. the alt-right label he throws on bitcoiners then moves on). as is typical with anyone who will label themselves politically, there is the inability to do anything beyond lip-service of considering that their mental frame may be wrong.

What Does Bitcoin Actually Fix with George Kaloudis
George, Please Read the Bitcoin Standard. The concept of economizing, and the idea that no one can economize effectively for anyone else, is the fundamental thing that all people do every day that Bitcoin fixes. With a common tool for measuring and economizing the cost of human time, many problems that are rooted in a failure to economize properly with simply stop being problems.

What Does Bitcoin Actually Fix with George Kaloudis
Great interview. Bitcoin distribution will trend towards those who work for it. Rich people need to pay for stuff- their wealth will distribute. If they simultaneously provide value and earn more and get richer, good for them. Family businesses typically fail in three generations because by the third, those grandkids are net sellers of value into the world. The same will be true for huge HODLed stacks. HODLers are important for this first generation of bitcoiners because ngu matters for growth.

This sounds like publishing a book for making paper airplanes out of fiat paper currency. IF you could help fiat, the plane design, artwork, or the numerology depicted would do nothing to keep the fiat system airbourne. This is a distraction, at best. The struggle to establish sound money doesn't need more vauleless obstacles, or socially acceptable tracking utilities.

Peter is completely wrong about altruism on BTC. Core dev is only alive because a few people who got fabulously wealthy by being early in have thrown some back... And a greedy pile on hoping to see that again. Bitcoin's weakness is 0 support for anything but miners.

Cool episode! 1 remark: Texans won’t accept cbdc if mandated, but governments know better. They’ll start throwing “vouchers” around, in the form of cbdc. Noone will say no to free money. But those will only be usable in specific stores or specific products. And that’s how it starts. This is what they now do in Greece, but with prepaid visas instead of CBDCs. I guess we’re WEF lab rats once again.
