Hello everybody, I am Matt Campbell, and welcome to episode number 39 of the Wedding Songs Podcast. I am the founder of MyWeddingSongs.com and we are a source of free song suggestions with over 600 playlists on the site. This week I am going to be talking about the Hot 50 Wedding songs of January 2021. Yes, welcome to the new year. What I do is I scour all of the top charts and the download charts across the internet including Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, Apple Music, and all the other good sources of streaming music, to find all of the best wedding songs that are hot right now. Just like your traditional charts of Casey Kasem and Dick Clark I am going to be counting down from 50 to number 1.

So let’s go ahead and get started with the first song on the list. At number 50 is a collaboration between Nelly and Florida Georgia Line with their song “Lil Bit” released on October 23, 2020. It is a fairly recent song and one that would fit nicely into your wedding party playlist. These guys are getting back together after their collaboration on “Cruise” several years ago. Number 49 is Luke Combs with his song “Forever After All”. A beautiful love song that was released on October 23, 2020. Another popular Luke Combs song that was released recently is “Better Together”. Be sure to check out both of these songs. At number 48 are Charlie Wilson and Smokey Robinson with “All Of My Love” which was released on October 23, 2020. A great love song to play as a background song for cocktails or dinner hour. This song could be remaining popular because of Smokey Robinsons' inclusion in the Allstate Insurance commercial. Next up, at number 47, are Mylie Cyrus and Dua Lipa with “Prisoner”. It kind of sounds like “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John back in the day. This one was released on October 23, 2020. It is funny, the first four songs released on our list were released on October 23, 2020.

At number 46 is an EDM hit by Marshmello and Bastille called “Happier” released on August 17, 2018. This is still a great party song and one to get everyone in a Happy mood (pun intended). Next up, at number 45, is Bakar with “Hell N Back” released September 20, 2018, making a comeback and a great song to play as background music. Number 44 is Kane Brown, Swae Lee, and Kahlid with their song “Be Like That” released on July 10, 2020. This is a great collaboration that has a little bit of EDM, R&B, and Country all joined together to make a great mid-tempo song for your reception. Next, we have, at number 43, Fall Out Boy with “Centuries” released on September 9, 2014. A great song that you could play as a party song for all of those Alternative Rock fans. Number 42 is a Classic Rock song by Survivor called “Eye Of The Tiger” released on May 29, 1982. This could be an introduction song or a grand entrance song for the wedding couple into the reception. The 41st spot is held by Johnny Nash just because recently passed away. A lot of people who pass away, their music becomes interesting again and people start downloading it again. His most popular song, “I Can See Clearly Now” has been on many wedding song playlists ever since its release on June 23, 1772.

Number 40 is a very popular dance hit by Pharrell Williams called “Happy”, released on November 21, 2013. Even though it has been around for 8 years now some people can be tired of it, but it was featured in the Minions movie so a lot of kids that watched that would know this song...
