In this episode, I sit down with interdisciplinary artist, photographer, writer, and philosopher Steven Seidenberg for a deep conversation about what art is really doing in the world. We explore his photographic practice, his fascination with silence, repetition, and overlooked forms, and how projects like The Architecture of Silence, Pipevalve: Berlin, and Kanazawa Vacancy turn everyday objects and abandoned spaces into something conceptually alive. Steven shares how he thinks about photography as both composition and editorial process, why prints matter, how exhibitions become collaborations, and what it means to create work that challenges people instead of simply entertaining them.We also get into the inner life of being an artist: comparison, recognition, rejection, audience, discipline, and the tension between making work for yourself and putting it into public discourse. From philosophy and poetry to social media, performance, and the purpose of art itself, this conversation kept opening new doors. By the end, Steven also shares some of the thinkers, writers, composers, films, and books that have shaped him, making this episode a rich look into the mind of someone working seriously across image, language, and ideas.Disorganized Productions / Chaos Creates Harmony podcast: https://disorganizedproductions.com/Steven Seidenberg (official website): https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/Steven Seidenberg Bio / Statement: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/bio-statementThe Architecture of Silence: Abandoned Lives of the Italian South: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/the-architecture-of-silence-bookPipevalve: Berlin: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/photography-booksKanazawa Vacancy: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/kanazawa-vacancyCoda: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/codaAnon: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/anonplain sight: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/plain-sightSitu: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/situItch: https://www.stevenseidenberg.com/itchDisaster for the People, Bonanza for the State (with Carolyn L.
