Y’all asked this on the last show and I can tell you why Spaniards call “Ibiza”, “Ibetha.” It’s because King Don Pedro way back in the 1300’s had a lisp, so speakers of Castilian Spanish adopted it so they didn’t offend the King and get executed. So everyone spoke with a lisp. It is still that way today. I learned this in my fifth year of Spanish. So there ya go! Bajen las cubiertas del indoro y levanten las capas! En el noche, y’all!
